Lead in our Environment

Lead is a naturally occurring element in our environment, but most of the concentrations formed by lead are the results of human interaction.  An un-natural lead cycle has been born by the use of lead in automotive gasoline and batteries.  The lead in the gasoline is burned, thus resulting in lead salts, that flourish through our environment as we simply drive our cars.  It is astonishing that larger particles of these salts will drop to the ground immediately after exiting the exhaust of our vehicles to pollute soils and even our water.  The tinier particles will travel far through the air and will reside in the atmosphere.  It is scary to think that drops of rain that fall to earth may consist of these lead salts.  The human production of the lead cycle has majorly outweighed the naturally occurring process.
